I don't normallly do this, but I'm going to share some vital info from this month’s Healing Hour from the Empowered Health Collective.
In this class we focused on gentle ways to support drainage and detoxification—especially liver health—without overloading the body. I guided members through an approachable lifestyle strategies and intuitive practices to help open elimination pathways and promote flow.
Key Topics Covered
1. Drainage First, Detox Second
- Drainage is about opening pathways—lymph, liver, kidneys, and skin—to allow toxins to exit.
- The Fluorescence Cleanse (Essiac Tea by Flora) is a gentle formula used this month to help support the liver, blood, and lymph. I recommend 2–3 weeks per bottle depending on dose.
2. Lifestyle Practices to Support Drainage
These are simple, low-cost or no-cost ways to stimulate the body’s natural detox systems:
✅ Rhythmic Eating / Gentle Fasting
- Try 12-hour overnight fasting windows (e.g., 7pm–7am) 2–3x/week.
- Avoid late-night snacks to give the liver a break from digestion.
- Note: Extended fasting is not recommended for women with adrenal fatigue or low energy.
✅ Warm Lemon Water + Digestive Bitters
- Stimulates bile flow and gentle detox.
- Add ½ lemon and 1 tsp bitters (like Urban Moonshine or Flora Swedish Bitters).
- If lemon feels too acidic, try fennel, dandelion, or apple cider vinegar instead.
✅ Castor Oil Liver Packs
- Apply over the right lower rib cage (liver area) for 30–45 minutes, 3–5x/week.
- Choose hexane-free, glass-bottled oil (Queen of Thrones is a favorite).
- Tip: Journal your intentions and set an energetic tone during use.
✅ Movement That Feels Good
- Support liver and lymph with rebounding, dancing, brisk walking, aqua aerobics, or yoga.
- Avoid punishing movement; follow what your body wants.
✅ Liver-Loving Foods
- Include: beets, broccoli sprouts, dandelion greens, arugula, flaxseeds, artichokes, garlic, turmeric, and sulfur-rich cruciferous veggies like kale and cauliflower.
✅ Reduce Liver Burden
- Avoid alcohol, toxic body care/cleaners, seed oils (canola/sunflower), excess sugar, and ice-cold drinks (opt for warm or room temp).
✅ Sleep as Medicine
- The liver regenerates from 1–3am—aim for sleep by 10pm.
- Create a screen-free wind-down routine, use candlelight, and try passionflower or lemon balm if needed.
✅ Energetic & Emotional Detox
- The liver stores anger and frustration. Journal about what you need to release.
- Ask yourself: “Where do I feel stuck or resistant?”
✅ Acupressure Points
- Liver 3 (foot): Between the big and second toe, great for moving liver energy.
- Large Intestine 4 (hand): Pair with Liver 3 for a “Four Gates” energy-opening practice.
✅ Binders (Optional)
- Use activated charcoal, psyllium husk, or bentonite clay (with lots of water!) to absorb and remove toxins.
✅ Hydration
- Drink 2–3L of water daily, ideally warm or room temperature.
- Lemon water can count as one of your morning liters.
✨ Closing Notes
This Healing Hour reminded us that detox and healing don’t need to be harsh. Gentle, intentional shifts—aligned with the body and seasons—can lead to real transformation.
Let your next few weeks be about:
- Flow, not force.
- Intuition, not overwhelm.
- Gentle release, not pressure.
And remember: you don’t need to do it all. Just choose one or two practices that speak to you and start there
