#1 Thing That Helped Me Heal

 

As a child and teenager, I suffered from severe irritability.  I felt like a ticking time bomb ready to go off if someone said or did something to trigger me.  It was rare if I didn’t wake up irritated and frustrated.

 

But these intense feelings I felt were the result of what was going on inside of me, creating perpetual stress.    

 

On an unconscious level I was attached to anger, frustration, fear and sadness to many people without realizing it.   

 

This was because at different points in my past I felt these people had hurt me through their words and actions. 

 

Though it was me that was still holding onto those painful experiences, because I didn’t know how to process them. 

 

Those experiences were kind of like undigested food rotting in my stomach, creating all kinds of different problems.

 

Those unprocessed negative experiences were telling my central nervous system (CNS) on an unconscious level to be in a state of fight or flight all the time, causing me to feel terrible.  

 

This made it very hard for me to relax and feel comfortable with myself and others. 

 

Physically, this affected my sleep, digestion and caused my body to feel tense and tight all the time.

 

At the time, I had no idea that I was still being affected from past experiences until I did this….

 

Quieted my mind and listened through meditation. 

 

When I first began meditating at age 20yrs old, I had a flood of negative feelings, thoughts and images arise to my consciousness.  It was quite scary and intimidating at first.  

 

But, I quickly learned an EXERCISE (listen to it below) that was centred around focusing on loving myself and other people. 

 

This powerful exercise helped me process the painful experiences, so I could finally overcome the pain they were causing me. 

 

It helped me to realize that I needed to forgive the people that hurt me and send love to them (including myself). 

 

All the negative feelings I was creating on a day to day basis were creating so much tension in my body that they were continually creating a toxic state for myself. 

 

As a result the physical, mental and emotional symptoms quickly resolved.

 

Clearing the stress in my mind also enhanced my intuition because it was no longer being blocked by stress and negativity.

 

When I decided to stop and observe, rather than reacted to every thought and feeling I experienced, it allowed me to create change.

 

Looking back at it now I find it amazing how simple it was to process the old emotional pain when I decided to let love in and let go.

5 Things to Make 2019 Great!

 

Greatness doesn’t happen overnight, it’s created through regular consistent investment of your time and energy. 

 

You’re already putting your energy into things, why not direct your time and energy into things that help you to thrive.

 

Below I share 5 things I have been doing to help me increase my health and happiness and I know you will benefit from them too!

 

5 Things to Make 2019 Great

 
1. Exercise for 1hr daily. 

 

If you want to take your health to the next level exercise is the way to do it.  I have been working out, lifting weights and swimming 3-4 days per week for 2 months.  In that short amount of time I have built up more muscle mass, am physically stronger, improved my endurance and energy level, feel less stressed, and haven’t gotten a sick (in the most notorious time of year to get sick).  

 

On top of all that, I walk 1-2 hrs per day with my dogs.

 

There are so many benefits to exercise like:

 

  • Stronger lungs = more oxygen to your muscles and brain = more energy.
  • Protection from flus and colds.  Exercise increases immunoglobulins, which are proteins that help bolster your immune system and ward off infection.
  • Mental calmness - Mood-enhancing chemicals, like serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine, flood your brain for a couple of hours post-exercise and for up to a day if you've competed in an endurance event, like a marathon. Stress? What stress?
  • Healthy weight - You're blasting calories, even at rest. "For every 100 calories you burn during your workout, you can expect to burn 15 calories after," Example, If you went on a three-mile run, you would torch about 300 calories, which could mean zapping an extra 45 later.
  • Healthy Heart – After every sweat session you lower your blood pressure for up to 16hrs.
  • Risk of diabetes goes down - The more you work out, the greater your sensitivity to insulin. That, in turn, lowers your blood sugar levels, reducing your risk of type 2 diabetes.
  • Physically stronger – regular exercise strengthens your muscles, bones and organs, helping to prevent weakness as you age.
  • Anti-aging – Fitness buffs have more telomeres. The DNA that bookends our chromosomes and protects them from damage, which can slow the aging process, studies show.
  • Melt away fat – After 4 weeks of regular exercise, your body ditches flab and gains muscle.  Overweight people who took part in a four-week program of moderate aerobic exercise in an Australian study reduced ab fat by 12%.  Wow, that’s fantastic!
2. Love yourself every day!

 

I have been focusing on loving myself unconditionally for the last 6yrs.

 

The benefits I have gained from this are:

  • Less stress
  • Attracted more friends into my life
  • Developed healthier relationship with family and friends.
  • Heal faster physically
  • Feel more optimistic about life.

The trick to loving yourself is to tell yourself, “I love myself unconditionally,” and allow yourself to feel the how you react to that statement.

 

Allow yourself to fully embrace the feelings created by loving yourself unconditionally.

 

The next thing, I recommend you do is ask yourself, “What do I want to do today that will help me love myself even more?”

 

Ask yourself this question in a quiet & calm place and listen to the answer your body gives back to you.

 
3. Set a goal of something you really want to do for yourself? 

 

This could be a trip, get into better shape and health, learn a new skill or make a new friend.  

 

This is not limited to one goal, set as many as you would like, but remember to take action to make them happen.

 

4. Go somewhere you have never been before.

 

This helps you get out of routine, your comfort zone and realize there’s more to life than what is going on in your world.

 

I know when I go somewhere I haven’t been before I experience a lot of unexpected happiness. This is due to growing and learning new things, which stimulates serotonin production.

 

5. Meditate on a daily basis.

 

Meditation is amazing at showing you where you could be limiting yourself.  Limits create stagnation and stagnation is the root of all imbalances: mental, emotional, spiritual and physical.

 

Therefore, by meditating you have the ability to make the unconscious conscious and see how you are affecting yourself and make the changes needed to live a fulfilling life.

Referral Program

 

Over the years Adam and I have received many referrals from happy clients. 

 

For a few months, Adam and I had discussed about creating a referral program.  How we can give back to you or anyone that has referred someone to us.

 

So, what we have come up with is on our intake forms when a person signs up for a Medical Intuitive Reading, 3 Question Medical Intuitive Reading, Distance Healing Session or Work with Both of Us, there is a spot where the person filling it out can enter the full name and email address of the person that referred them.

 

Then Adam or I can contact them to give them a FREE 30mins Intuitive Consultation with me or a 30mins Distance Energy Healing with Adam.

Within Every Problem is the Solution

 

I had a realization this week, about where a part of me was living my life from.  I was living my life through a place of thinking, “I need to make more money to be happy.”  At times in the past when I would make a lot of money I would feel happy, but then other times when I thought I didn’t make enough I would feel very unhappy and stressed.  Resulting in me making bad choices for myself.

 

This unhealthy definition is not something I came up with on my own, this is a belief that many people are brainwashed with through media, other people and a lot of North American culture. 

 

The chase for wealth is a very unnatural way of living, there is so much stress associated with it because human’s have a natural instinct to always want more of whatever their goal is. 

 

One thing I have grown to understand over the years is, “Wealth is the result of my actions.” So, I if I want to be wealthy I need to do the things/actions that will produce it.  And with me being a very holistic minded person, I want to help people achieve their full potential.

 

Back to my story….

 

After having this realization, I decided to change my goal of my life by first asking myself the question, “How do I want to feel?”

 

The answer I came up with was, “Joy.”  So, I decided I am going to start living my life from a place of joy.  

 

So, my next question was, “What do I need to do to create that?”

 

The answer my soul gave me back was, “To just be.”  The answer felt peaceful, joyful and loving.

 

I then asked myself some more specific questions.

 

From a work standpoint the message I received was to share how I feel and help others pinpoint exactly what they want out of their lives.  When you know what you want then you can achieve it.

 

From a physical health standpoint I want to eat the healthiest food/diet possible for myself and do exercises and movement that make me feel good.

 

Emotionally: Be open and accepting of other people and their views, be kind and gentle on myself always. 

 

Mentally:  Accept that I don’t know everything and ask for help.

 

Spiritually:  Continually align myself with the highest form of unconditional love.

 

So, my question for you is, “Where are you living your life from?” If you’re not sure how to answer that then, “What is the most common way you feel about your life?”

 

How you feel has a direct impact on every aspect of your life such as health, relationships and finances.

 

Below I have written the steps I used to find out what was controlling my life and how I changed it into what I do want.

 

Steps to Create the Life you Desire

 

  1. Find somewhere quiet and peace, close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths.  With your eyes close bring your attention to the centre of your chest and ask yourself, “How do I feel about my life?”  The answer you receive may come back in words, feelings, or images.  Do your best to interpret the message.
  2. Ask yourself, “Why you feel this way about your life?”  Did the answer you got back feel healthy or unhealthy to you?
  3. At this time decide if you want to keep living your life in this way or are you ready to change and live your life in a better way?
  4. If you want to live your life in a better way, ask yourself (at that chest level), “How do I want my life to feel on a regular basis?”
  5. With your answer, ask yourself, “What do I need to do to live this way?”
  6. At this point you can start being more specific like asking, “What do I need to do physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually to live this way?” Ask whatever question you would like in regards to your answer.

3 Biggest Health Robbers

 

Over the past few weeks, I had the opportunity to accompany a friend to Sanoviv Medical Institute in Mexico.

 

Sanoviv specializes in treating many chronic health conditions like cancer, autoimmune disorders and Lyme disease.  They also run detox programs to improve your health.

 

There were a few things that became quite apparent for health and healing while I was there. Nothing that was new to me, but instead reinforced the importance of it to maintain and optimize health.

 

3 Things that Rob Your Health and What you can do about them

 

1. Sugar

 

Sugar is one of the worst things you can eat.  If you were to add up all the sugar you eat in a day, you would be astounded.  Most of the sugar people eat, is not even in realization that they are eating sugar in the first place. 

 

Did you know that bread even turns to sugar in your body? 

 

Or how about sweeteners like agave nectar, corn syrup, dextrose, fructose, etc. that show up in most of our packaged foods? 

 

I learned sugar feeds ill health and in particular cancer. 

 

Now, fruit shouldn’t be confused with sugar.  Fruit in its whole form contains fiber which slows down the rate at which glucose hits the blood stream.  However, you should still be careful with how much fruit you eat. 

 

Did you know that 1 apple contains 4 teaspoons of sugar?  If you juice that apple, the entire 4 tsp will absorb and feed your cells with sugar.  That is why it’s best to eat fruit in its whole form, fiber intact. 

 

The last thing I will say about sugar is watch the amount of sauces you use and even salad dressings.  Make your own and keep sugar out.

 

I also learned that sugar causes a fatty liver.  Got a fatty liver?  A fatty liver is the liver being flooded with too much sugar.  Cut it out and see what happens.

 

2. Inflammation

 

Keep Inflammation as low as possible.  Inflammation is rampant in people’s bodies these days. The common North American diet is very inflammatory with gluten and processed foods like dairy, sugar, sauces and dips, coffee, etc. 

 

Inflammation clogs up your body’s ability to properly detoxify, and to heal. 

 

Eating a very heavy diet in vegetables which is as organic as possible is one of the best ways to keep inflammation at bay. 

 

At Sanoviv, most meals were completely vegetable base with some added nuts and fats like avocado.  I found myself eating a big salad with seeds and avocado, and then some steamed veggies on the side.  Very little white meat/poultry was eaten, and the only grains consumed were quinoa, oatmeal, wild rice and brown rice.  There were very few legumes aside from lentils.  I noticed I felt very clean eating this way. 

 

One of my favorite things they served was Golden Milk.  Now, Golden Milk is amazing at reducing inflammation, getting your liver detoxifying and blood purifying.  It’s great for the joints and arthritis and is even a great tonic for a woman’s reproductive system.  

 

I recommend that you make Golden Milk if you have never tried it. 

 

Golden Milk Recipe
  • ¼ cup of water
  • 1/8 tsp of turmeric
  • 1 cup almond or nut milk
  • 1-2 tablespoons of almond oil or nut oil 
  • Pinch of cardamon and cinnamon 
  • Raw honey to taste if desired. 

Boil water and turmeric in a small saucepan over medium to high heat for 8 mins.  This cooks the turmeric and releases its properties.  Meanwhile bring the rice or nut milk to a boil in another saucepan and then remove from heat.  Add in the coconut oil or almond oil, cardamon and cinnamon as well as the raw honey if desired.  Mix both mixtures together.  Drink and enjoy. 

 

3. You Can’t Heal if You are Stressed

 

Lastly, I would like to mention my biggest takeaway.  If one cannot maintain a balanced state of inner peace, and allows stress to lead the way, health will be hard to maintain.  I realized that stress comes in many forms.  Complaining, control, or feeling a lack of control, worry, feeling unloved, not being present in the moment, anger and supressed frustration, harboring old hurt (which only hurts you) and lack of self-love to name a few. 

 

I learnt that surrender and acceptance even in crappy circumstances is essential to healing.  One woman I met at Sanoviv was able to align her mind and body into a place of peace, acceptance, and wellbeing while she was there.  In three weeks, her cancer markers returned to that of a healthy person.  Rather than stressing about the disease itself, she choose to be at peace and know that her mind was her biggest ally in healing. 

One doctor at Sanoviv said that there are only two reasons for illness other than injury, a bad diet and stress.  If you can work on both of those, you have the best chance at a good healthy life.

 

Of course, I re-learned a lot more while visiting Sanoviv Medical Institute.  I will be sharing these with you over the coming weeks.  So, stay tuned!

How to Align Yourself With Who You Really Are

 

Do you feel out of balance, unhappy, sad or depressed?  Or even worse are you struggling with a chronic health problem?

 

Do you ever wonder how you got this way?

 

Well, let me tell you how I see these problems manifest.... 

 

They are the result of being out of touch or alignment with who you truly are.  Regular reinforcement of being fearful of not trusting your gut feelings, desires and passions have created a life that you don’t like.   

 

This is because you haven’t developed yourself in the way that you want to be.  Instead you are acting like someone other than your natural self.  You are an accumulation of stress, insecurities, resistance, etc. resulting in your current state of being.    

 

Why would you ever do something like that?

 

Actually, it’s extremely common due to the society we live in, and the other reason for it is a lack of being taught how to get in touch with who you are. 

 

Think about it from day one of your birth you are born into a world where people all around you are working a job that they don’t like, think they must dress a certain way because they saw it on a magazine, tv or the internet.  So, you are being bombarded with people and their feelings and attitudes of being unhappy with not being themselves.

 

But, the biggest influence on you is your parents, siblings or whoever you grow up around.  Everything they say you take as truth and very rarely are you taught to think for yourself and choose what you want to do.  Instead you were forced to be like someone else, to fit in to prevent them from feeling embarrassed and to do things you really didn’t want to do or have no interest in.  Many times, what ends up happening is, people just think that this is the way life is and give up on their hopes and dreams.

 

No wonder it is so easy to get out of alignment with who you are.

 

But, listen it’s not too late, you still have a chance to get in touch with who you are and your needs. 

 

Reconnect With Yourself

 

To do this you must be willing to put total trust in yourself….  Are you ready to do that?

 

Some people aren’t because of old hang ups in their mind that interfere with trusting themselves.

 

If you are one of these people, here are some important questions to ask yourself:

  • Am I willing to trust myself? Yes or No
  • Am I willing to learn how to trust myself? Yes or No
  • Can I move forward from this point in my life? Yes or No

To get a Yes or No answer from these questions, close your eyes and ask each question.  Make a note of the answers you receive.  You may receive the word Yes or No, or you may get a feeling for your answer.  A Yes feeling is calming while a No answer is tensing. 

 

If you received a No to any of these questions you will likely require assistance to remove what is inhibiting you from moving into a place of trusting yourself.  This can be a variety of things, such as insecurities, which were made up at some point in your life, but through reinforcing them, they have grown and now hold a lot of power over you.

If you received Yes to the questions then, you can move forward with trusting yourself. 

 

The next step into trusting yourself is asking yourself, “what do I need to do to achieve… name a specific goal you have.”  It may be overcoming an illness, relationship issue, financial issue, etc. 

 

It is best to close your eye when you ask this question and be somewhere quiet and peaceful.  Have a pen and paper handy, so you can write notes.  There may be several steps you need to take to achieve your goal.  Make sure to ask yourself if there are steps you need to take. 

 

There you go.  Now it is up to you to follow the answer you received. 

 

When you follow the answers, you received, it helps to solidify that you do trust yourself and the process then gets easier and more comfortable every time you do it.

How to Transmute Emotions!

Don’t let negative emotions stop you from healing. 

 

Did you know that negative emotions like anger, fear and hatred work against you if you are trying to heal?

 

They stop you from healing because they inhibit you from feeling love and LOVE HEALS.

 

Dr. Bernie Siegel explains the connection between love and health by saying that when you do not love your life your body suffers.  It’s the ‘good girl’ who gets breast cancer.  She’s the one who takes care of others needs and desires at the expense of her own.

 

The 'good girl' may see love as conforming.  Of course, there are times that conforming is in your best interest. But conforming for love's sake stifles creativity and makes it impossible to live an authentic life. This creates stress and chronic stress leads to illness.

 

People often feel this stress on Monday - the most common day for suicide, heart attacks and illness.

 

Dean Shrock, PhD, author of “Why Love Heals” discovered scientific proof that love heals.  Dr. Shrock was a director of Mind-Body Medicine for 40 cancer centers.  He found that his patients lived much longer than those receiving only conventional medical care.

 

It was not his programs or teachings that made the difference, but the care his patients felt from him.

 

I wonder what would have happened if his patients learned how to love themselves unconditionally.

 

Dr. Shrock defines love as an all pervasive energy that flows through everything.  Connecting emotionally and spiritually is the essence of life and health.

 

He explains that love is oneness.  On a subatomic level, we are all connected. When you experience it, you are resonating with the essence of the universe and who you are. The quantum field flows freely and health is the result. You yourself are source energy.

 

When you love yourself and accept it from others, you naturally attract healthier relationships, healing, and blessings from the universe.

 

Very few people are taught this as children or let alone at all.  So, now is your chance to integrate this knowledge.

Have you ever noticed how good you feel when you spend time in nature?  If you do not know what I am talking about, it is time to get out into nature.

 

Nature is in a constant state of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE and it gives without expecting anything in return.  Unconditional love is what all the great sages and healers like: Jesus, Buddha, and even Mother Theresa embraced.

I find time spent in nature helps return me to who I am….my natural, balanced state…. I believe nature does this for everyone.

 

It happens because being in nature, naturally, aligns you with the healing vibration of unconditional love.  When in a state of unconditional love, your stress melts away and your body can heal much faster.

 

You breathe in more oxygen, as well as, therapeutic scents of trees and plants.

I like to walk in nature every morning before I start my day.  Also if I have had a particularly stressful day, I like to go into nature as it is naturally therapeutic.  I have also found my intuition has been enhanced by spending time in nature.

 

For years, I have been intuitively guided to daily spend time in nature in order to balance myself and improve my health.

 

And guess what, science has done several studies that prove this is exactly what is happening.

I am no stranger to chronic pain.  Not only did pain dominate my life for 4 years, but it also substantially  increased my level of stress.  It is not easy living each day with pain.

 

Along with pain, most people deal with varying levels of depression and stress.  I know I did.  It takes a Jedi mindset to ignore pain and push through each day.

 

But, did you know chronic pain may not be a physical problem?

 

Yes, pain is real, and what you are physically feeling is too.  

 

But, what if I told you that the key to alleviating most chronic pain is in the mind!

 

It has been scientifically proven that many chronic aches and pains are actually rooted in the brain.  As with our emotions, negative mental chatter, and an inability to cope with stress can actually affect different brain centers and manifest in the body.

 

In other words, your mind is able to refer pain into the physical body.

 

Do you have pain in your body with an unknown cause?

 

Or perhaps you have found its cause.  But have you ever noticed some people have the exact same issue and have no problem at all?  

 

No Pain At All.

 

In the book, The Hidden Psychology of Pain by Dr. James Alexander, he talks about John Sarno’s work.

 

John Sarno found conventional medicine actually knows  little about chronic pain.  He observed in his research that there was no neat relationship between damage in the body and an existence of pain.  In other words, people with chronic pain, when examined with x-ray and other diagnostic tools, were found to have no structural abnormalities at all.

It was also found that a high percentage of people, who participated in the research showed evidence of structural pathology of the spine, but had no pain at all.

 

How can that be?

 

Could it be that the key to healing chronic pain is in the mind?

 

Throughout Western and Eastern Medicine, there are countless stories of people healing their pain via the mind.

 

Placebo Effect

 

In Western Medicine, it is known as the placebo effect and  has been observed in numerous controlled, double blind studies. One group of people receive the medication, while the other group get a sugar pill which they believe is the medication.

 

What is interesting here is just as many people heal who believed they received the medication, as those individuals who actually did.  People healed, because they believed the medication would heal them.  Their belief and their mind healed their bodies.

Have you used a placebo to stimulate healing?

 

In Eastern Medicine, meditation appears to work for pain relief, as it reduces brain activity in your somatosensory cortex.  This area of the brain determines where the pain is felt and its intensity.  

 

More than that, Eastern Traditions are now exploring the power of your thoughts as a mind body therapy for pain.

 

Methods like Neuro-linguistic Programming and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy help to reprogram a person’s response to pain, as well as, change negative thought patterns which stimulate a chronic stress response.

 

I have had success with some of these techniques.  Not only did these methods help muffle the pain I was feeling, but also helped me be at peace in my body, no matter the situation.

 

5 Techniques to Reduce Chronic Pain and Stress

 

1.  Mindfulness Meditation – Mindfulness is a very effective meditation technique for relaxing mind and body, and dialing down a stress response.  It has been proven effective for pain relief and pain management.  Mindfulness is simply becoming aware of your breath, relaxing your mind to such a point where you lose track of your body.  Your body becomes so relaxed that all pain is diminished.

 

Mindfulness meditation puts you into a deep, theta brain state where anything is possible.  Pain becomes more manageable and in some cases disappears, and you find yourself in a more peaceful, happy state in your day to day life.

 

2.  Hypnosis –Hypnosis is a scientifically verified and effective technique that allows you to tap into your subconscious mind and promote change.

 

Hypnosis enables you to create desired changes in behaviour, as well as, promoting emotional, mental, and physical well-being. It is a powerful, visualization technique that you can learn to use for: pain reduction and healing, weight loss, quitting smoking, anxiety and PTSD, etc. It allows you to gain control of unwanted behaviours and make changes.

 

3.  Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – CBT focuses on development of coping strategies to solve current problems such as: pain, depression, anxiety, as well as, facilitating conscious changes to your thoughts, behaviours, and beliefs.

 

Cognitive behavioural therapy has been proven to give a person practicing it new coping skills and a fresh perspective on life.  It has also been shown to be effective for pain relief.

 

4.  Visualization – Visualization is a technique that incorporates the power of the mind to heal the body.  In a meditative state, you see a problem you want healed being resolved.  You are essentially telling the body what you want with your mind.  You literally visualize yourself in perfect health. Some people even visualize going into their problem such as pain and watch it healing.  The mind is very powerful. If you believe, it can happen.

 

5.  Placebo Effect – This is where you choose a food or an object you believe can heal your body.  For example, you make a greens drink your placebo. Every time you drink it you believe it is healing you. Hence this green drink is your placebo effect.  If your mind believes that your chosen object will heal you, it most likely will. The trick is to truly believe!
