Goji Berries Review
Goji Berries look like red raisins and are originally from Asia. They are considered a superfood because they have such a high nutritional valve.
Goji Berries contain more beta carotene than carrots, 500 times more vitamin C than oranges do by weight, 18 amino acids and 21 trace minerals, and substantial amounts of vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6 and vitamin E. Goji berries also have essential fatty acids (in the seeds) and are a rich source of carotenoids (similar to beta carotene).
All of these nutrients create quite a health punch, thus making Goji Berries excellent for:
• Slowing down aging.
• Preventing strokes and heart attacks.
• Preventing and treating night blindness and eye problems.
• Strengthening the immune system to ward off colds, flu and infection.
• Protecting against toxins.
• Anti-cancerous.
• Anti-inflammatory to lower cholesterol and treating impotence and prostate enlargement.
• Anti-bacterial.
• Anti-fungal.
• Enhancing memory and muscle growth.
• Protecting the liver and DNA from oxidation.
• Preventing periodontal disease.
• Speeding up wound healing.
• Healthy bone and teeth formation.
• Maintaining collagen and connective tissues for younger looking skin.
I love Goji Berries; they are by far one of my favourite superfoods. I first found out and began eating Goji Berries when I was going to Traditional Chinese Medicine College. I have been eating Goji Berries and making tea from them for over ten years now. I even grind up about 10 Goji Berries with my coffee in the morning.
Goji Berries have helped me with dry eyes, which were especially bad at night and aggravated while reading. Having dry eyes made me have a hard time staying up late because my eyes would tire easily and I didn’t enjoy reading because it would strain my eyes and make me feel tired too. I also find while eating Goji Berries that I feel calmer and have better mental focus.
Like any fruit and especially in a dried form you do not want to overeat Goji Berries because they can cause you to have loose stools or diarrhea. There are many stories of Taoist monks and Chinese Herbalists eating about ten Goji Berries per day for longevity and that is probably all you need because these berries are so high in nutrients.
